We started our trip on October 27th (the wedding day of my friend, Jason, and his Abbie...we weren't able to make it to the wedding, but we wish them a lifetime of happiness!). We stopped at Walgreens - a grand total of two miles from our house - to pick up a few things on the way out of town. As we pulled into the Walgreens' parking lot, Cati said, "Are we here?!?" Louie said, "Where, sweetie?" She said, "Nashville!?" I guess she thought that was the long drive we'd been preparing her for!
Except for an occasional meltdown here and there, the kids were all-in-all extremely good during the car ride. We stopped and stayed the night in Atlanta, which helped break it up. Plus, we let them watch dvds the entire way.
Even though we have Cracker Barrel restaurants here in Florida - and haven't once eaten there in the entire time we have lived in Florida - as soon as we set foot back in The South (Please note that I do not consider Florida part of "The South." I will get ugly and argumentative with anyone that says that it is.), we headed straight to Cracker Barrel for breakfast!

After breakfast, Catalina couldn't wait to get to Nashville. She loved seeing the mountains and the pretty leaves as we got closer to Tennessee. When we were pulling onto Mary Ann and Jason's street, she looked like she was ready to burst with excitement. Will and our kiddos played and played in the Pewitts' huge backyard, then we went to Woodmont park to meet up with a bunch of friends that came out to meet Cati and Gus. I was so busy visiting with people that I didn't take a single picture. Thanks to everyone that came out to play and catch up. We loved seeing you!

The only letdown of the day was that we weren't able to see Nichols, who was supposed to come in from Memphis for her baby shower. She's on bedrest for the next couple of weeks. Even though we missed her, we're glad she's taking care of herself and the littlest Nichols.
Okay, I have spent toooo much time on this computer. More tomorrow from our trip.
