Then, on Saturday, we celebrated with a small cookout at home. He’s not one for big crowds or parties, so we only invited a few of his friends. It turned out to be just perfect! Here is the photo from the front of his invite:

Just so you know, I wasn’t foolish enough to think that his toddler terribleness would magically disappear when he turned three, but it was a cute idea, anyway. Tia Jules made adorable little shirts for the party with the same theme. Here are the kiddos waiting for their friends to arrive, wearing their Julie-shirts:

Some of my faves from the party:

The next day was his actual birthday, so we celebrated again! Cake and presents for breakfast!

Next, we were off to Connell’s birthday party at the aquarium. It was Max’s first time at the aquarium and he really enjoyed it!

Pizza and more cake, just what we needed!

Gussy got a little confused at one point (who can blame him?) on whose birthday party it was and actually started opening one of McConnell’s presents. See him in the background below:

Then, back into the fountains to run off some of that sugar (yes, that's a cruise ship in the background below...they dock right behind the aquarium):

I LOVE this picture…sweet Cati helping Gussy reach the watergun:

Tired and happy:

Before leaving, Cati and Gus got airbrushed tattoos (which Gussy called a “tattoo-y” and then progressed to calling it a “ratatouille,” like the vegetable dish or the kids’ movie!):

We rounded out his birthday with Mexican food (naturally) and MORE presents that night! It was a great day and I can’t believe that sweet, baby Gus is now three-years-old!

Happy Birthday Gussy!!! He looks so big and I sure hope (for my sake, that Threes do get rid of some of the terrible : ) Love the theme. And what an amazing aquarium. Love it!
Happy Birthday to sweet Gus! I can't believe he is three! What a cute idea for his birthday party theme...you are always so creative! Sounds like you guys had quite a weekend...has the sugar worn off yet? :)
By the way...cute placemats. Where did you find those?
