Our Week

Catalina wrapped up her swim lessons yesterday. It's amazing to think that two weeks ago she had never been in a swimming pool before and now she is very comfortable in the water. Yesterday, she even doggie-paddled by herself (with the bubble on her back, but I still think that is excellent progress). Plus, she was well-behaved and she made a friend, Wolfgang, whom we hope to have over for a playdate very soon. We are very proud of our little girl!

Here are some cute pics from her final week of swim class.

This next one is currently my favorite picture of our little muñeca (doll).

These next three make-up a funny series of pictures...first, she and Wolfgang are playing nicely together with a couple of toys.

Now, it's Cati's turn to jump in the pool, so rather than let Wolfgang play with them, she has set them to the side. Notice how she's checking Wolfie out to see if she can trust him to stay away from the toys during her turn.

Finally, she decides to push them even farther away to keep Wolfgang from getting them. That's my girl! I have been assured that this is normal 3- and 4-year-old behavior, so, even though I did reprimand her for being selfish, it mostly just makes me laugh!

Looking at her good report card from Marissa, her teacher!

Gus has been attending the Y's nursery while Cati has been in swim class. At the beginning, he was an absolute wreck. But, on the third day, he cried himself to sleep and, since then, there have been fewer and fewer tears. Yesterday, he was even sitting nicely one of the nursery workers' laps when I came to pick him up. Since he's never been around many other infants and children, we sort of expected him to pick up a cold at the Y. Sure enough, yesterday, he came down with a nasty chest cold. He's back on his inhaler, though, and hopefully that will have him feeling better very soon.

Okay, y'all have a good weekend. I've got some cute pictures from the park this week, but I'll post those next time since this has wound up being a long one. Love!

As soon as she catches a glimpse of a picture, my little girl (2 yrs. old) always runs to the computer to see Cati and Gus. Tonight, when looking a the swimming pictures, she said, "Where's her mom?" Don't forget to get bunches of pictures of you with the kiddos!
