Catching up - part three

So, a couple more fun things from my family's visit. We went to the beach, which is always fun. The boys fished for a little while and the ladies and kids played at the beach. It was a beautiful day and, of course, I got lots of beautiful pictures (I'll just share a few b/c there are too many good ones). Ooh, one of the really fun things about that day was getting to see several dolphins, including a mama and her calf, closer than I have ever seen them in the wild.







My little brother and my kids...I remember when Matt was as little as they are and now he's all grown-up and playing with my kids and they love him. It's a beautiful thing for me to see.

On Wednesday, Grandad and Cati made strawberry ice cream using this cool little ball that Grandad gave her...you put the ingredients in and you toss the ball around for a while and, voila, yummy ice cream. I think Cati didn't really believe that she was helping to make ice cream by rolling this ball back and forth, but she was very pleased with the result. Later, we went to the park and then to dinner, followed by Easter egg decorating. Catalina had such a good time doing the eggs with Tia Jules. We let her stay up late because she was so into it.

Cati initiated a little sidewalk chalk session with these other kids at the park (that is a first for her, initiating contact with other kids at the park, ones that she doesn't already know). Gus wanted to check out what they were doing, but he's pretty shy with new people, so he just hoovered around the perimeter.
